Beginners Computer Class - Would you like to learn computers a beginners class is commencing in the Family Resource Centre on Tuesday 28th February 10am to 1pm for 4 weeks, the cost of the course is €50. The course includes basic computer knowledge, word, internet and email there are still some space available if interested contact the FRC 071 9186926
Basic First Aid and Paediatric First Aid
With the support of Sligo VEC the Family Resource Centre will be running the above classes for the community. The basic fist aid is a full day course and the paediatric is a two day course. Limited spaces available. For more information contact the centre on 0719186926.
Thursday Morning CraftsWould you like to learn new skills and develop your creative side? The FRC hope to run a number of fun art classes using recyclable materials. Items that can be made vary from cushions, cards, novelty gifts, gift boxes and bags and much more. If you are interested please contact the centre on 0719186926.
Men’s Shed Public Meeting a Success
A very successful information night on setting up a Men’s Shed in Tubbercurry took place in the Family Resource Centre last week. John Evoy of the Irish Men’s Shed’s Association spoke about what a Men’s Shed was and the benefits of such sheds. He also spoke about the camaraderie and lasting friendships they can create as well as the skills and knowledge that can be shared while men work shoulder to shoulder. The night saw up to 40 men attending from around the county. A decision was made that the group would meet each Wednesday in the Resource Centre from 7-9pm to set up a Shed in Tubbercurry and plan what work they will do for the coming months. The Incredible Years Parent Programme - The Incredible Years Parent Programme runs for 12 weeks. Sligo Education Centre, Sligo Leader Partnership and Sligo County Childcare Committee intend to deliver a course in Tubbercurry Family Resource Centre commencing 9th February on Thursday mornings from 10am-12pm . The programme supports parents of children aged between 3 and 11 in building stronger relationships, problem solving and having fun with your child while meeting other parents.
