All-Stars:   Congratulations to local girls Laura Gillespie, Orla Coleman, Caoimhe Gallagher and Karen Walsh who won Ladies Connacht Secondary Schools All Star award at the awards ceremony last week.  Ladies football is developing all the time locally between clubs and school and should be encouraged as much as possible.

St. Attractas Community Schools Senior Football team had a very good win in the Connacht League ‘B’ Final when they beat Ballyhaunis Community School in a well contested final played in Claremorris. This is actually the first time St. Attractas have won this league, despite the fact that they have won the Senior Championship on two occasions since the School opened in 2002. The win augers well for the team going into the championship in the New Year and best wishes are extended to team and management in the months ahead.

South Sligo Community Park Ltd. An overview of our main objective is to redevelop the current sports field in the Mountain Road area with a new football pitch, running track, dressing rooms and car parking. We continue to meet routinely in an effort to close all administrative loose ends and will be making a big push on the proposal in 2012.  We are in the process of signing an extended lease on the land with the VEC.  We will be in touch over the coming weeks to discuss ongoing developments and fundraising.  Of course we will be having some information nights too where you can express your own thoughts and discuss.  Our proposal can be seen on facebook and will be on www.tubbercurry.ie  Please feel free to contact us at SSCP@live.ie or find us on Facebook at South Sligo Community Park
