This highly acclaimed multi award winning and very funny play by Corn Mill Theatre and Arts Centre returns by popular demand to St. Brigids Hall Theatre on Fri. 17th. Feb. Written and directed by Seamus O'Rourke who also plays the leading role is the comic tale of Victor Maguire, a crude, vulgar, abrupt, and un-PC Cavan farmer. It is set in Victors farm yard with its own dung heap, outdoor toilet and rather poor broadband reception.
69th. Western Drama Festival. The programme of plays and groups has been announced. Nine groups will participate in the festival of full length plays which will run in St. Brigids Hall Theatre from Fri. 2nd to Sat 10th. March. Groups from all over the country have been included. Both of last years winners are making a welcome return - Cornmill Mill Theatre Group Carrigallen open winners and Ballyshannon Drama Society confined winners who also went on to win the All Ireland Finals. Many other top groups in the country are in the programme including the local Phoenix Players who open the Festival with their production of 'The Cripple of Inishmann' by Martin McDonagh, Nenagh Players, Coolera Dramatic Society, and Wexford Drama Group making their first appearance at this event. Meanwhile the Official Launch of the programme will be held in Mickey Mack's (upstairs Lounge) on Fri. 17th Feb. The programme will be launched by Seamus O'Rourke of Cornmill Theatre. Seamus is a well known actor, director and playwright and participates regularly in drama in Tubbercurry. He is also a fabulous story teller and entertainer and a great night is assured.
